Beers Sampled: Style Pilsner: Commercial offerings Pilsner Urquell, Dinkel Acker CD-Pils.
The Pilsner Style originated in Pilsen, Czech, by Urquell in 1842

  1. Matt D. : Sappy Pils.  Made with Maple Sap, very clean, tasty, head retention a little low, only 2-3 weeks in the bottle.
  2. Matt B. : Sunday Pils:  Flaked corn, and some Munich Malt added. Corn/malt flavors nice, very good.
  3. Eric B. : Bailey’s Birthday Beer.  Pils/vienna, Spalt Hops, wyeast Czech pilsner yeast, good, I like it.
  4. Chris H., Frank W. : India Pale Lager, Magnum/Pearl hops, 5.6%, Brewed in January, Dry hopped with El Dorado/Northern Brewer. Extended boil to hit target created a darker more bitter result. 60 IBU’s, Caramel, burnt creme Brulee flavors, very good.
  5. Matt D.: BS ESB  2.5%,  Flaked Barley, Biscuit, Maris Otter, Sterling Golding hops. Green pepper flavors. This was a recipe modified from Ken Shales' book "Brewing Better Beers."
  6. Matt D. : Cafe Latte Stout, 1# Lactose, ¾ cup coarse ground coffee @ flameout & left in primary. Very good, balanced.
  7. George M. : IPA 3.5%, Citrus IPA, passion fruit, nugget/mosaic/citra hops, dry hopped with 1 oz. mosaic, 1 oz. citra. Sorghum aroma, citrus flavors, good. A ton of carbonation (blew the flip top right off the bottle).
  8. Brian G. : Commercial beer, Lord Hobo- Museum Triple IPA 11%, formaldehyde Flavor, strong alcohol.
  9. Wes A. : Lemon Wine #3, 15.8%, 192 oz. Welch's white grape juice, 10# sugar, 14 lemons. Additional zest & juice of 16 lemons in secondary. Very lemon forward.
