Many orders of business were discussed including:
HOPS for Heroes will take place on Sunday, May 22 from 1:00 to 4:00 under tents out in front of Council Rock. We have ten brewers signed up for the event with twelve beers. The styles of beer for the competition part of the event are American Pilsner or American Pale Ale. Brewers are asked to show up at 11:30 to help setup.
Hartwick Food and Beverage Center has offered to analyze beers from the HOPS members. A visit to the Center, possibly a club meeting, will be scheduled.
- A future trip to the local meaderies, Green Wolf brewing, and the Schoharie Potato Vodka distillery sometime over the summer. Will discuss further at the next meeting.
Warm welcome back to Chris Givens and Ed and hope they join us again soon.
Wishing a fond farewell to Ken and Holly as they will be moving to the Washington DC area and will be missed. They hope to visit sometime soon for a future HOPS event. - There were many interesting beers sampled this meeting including:
o Ed brought a Belgium with French yeast (sold at Roots as the Antidote).
o Chris C. brought his Big Brew Day brown for sampling after a few months aging.
o Steve brought one of the kit beer’s from Sweet Meadows Teach a Friend to Brew day that was made with Matt’s leadership. It was labeled a Boneyard IPA that was good, but more of a pale ale than IPA.
o Frank brought a sweet Rose Hip mead and a blueberry Melomel..
o Matt presented a Kiwi Melomel made with 15lbs. of honey and over 11lbs. of kiwi.
